Since Grandma C was only in town for a few days we had a pre Thanksgiving dinner to celebrate a little early. Daddy worked hard on the turkey and Amaya supervised by sitting in her chair and squealing loudly. Here are a few pics of our night!
A few weeks ago Grammie, Auntie C, Amaya and I went wine tasting. Well actually us adults went tasting and Amaya simply looked around, and I tend to think it was that 6 month pregnant woman who was practically drunk that had her attention.
Anyway we went to the lovely Clos La Chance winery and then went to lunch in Santa Cruz. It was an absolutely beautiful day I wish I had taken more pictures of the beach! We ended up at the new Bonny Doon tasting room and had some lackluster wine but all in all it was a fabulous day. I love this time with the 4 of us, spending time together, laughing about crazy things, talking about life in general and enjoying each others company.
I took these pictures of Amaya one afternoon when she was in a particularly good mood. She makes eye contact and it's all over, she laughs and grins her gummy little smile. For now we are holding off on feeding her cereal even though she shows an interest in food. I'm not ready to introduce the solids quite yet although Grammie really wants to give her rice! LOL
Well my lovebug turned 5 months today. It's so bittersweet, she is growing up so fast. I'm trying to enjoy these early days with her, memorizing her face and her laughs because she is starting to change a little bit every day. So anyway here is Amaya at 5 months, in all of her glory.
I *LOVE* her morning smiles. Every morning she wakes up so happy!
What an exciting day! History was made when Obama was elected into office. It was an emotional moment for me and one that I was thrilled to get to share with Amaya. Of course, she'll never remember it but whatever, the fact is that her parents and Grandparents watched the results come in while eating some incredibly tasty chili.
Also, exactly one year ago today I found out I was pregnant. Talk about a multitude of emotions, it was like "OMFGWTF I'm pregnant!!!" Now we have a beautiful little girl who makes our life better in every way. I was thinking the other day that we started off on this journey really low- the stressful way she came into the world and the bonding time I was robbed of. The first few weeks were just tough emotionally, I wasn't ready to see or talk to anyone. But when you are down there is only one way to go which is up right?
Now every new milestone is amazing, every pound gained, every smile directed and me or Daddy, every laugh out loud or squeal of joy makes me so incredibly happy.
Amaya's first Halloween has come and gone. First we visited Daddy at work where lots of people got to visit with her. We ended up sticking with the ladybug costume because it was chilly that day. Then went to Grammie's house and carved pumpkins with Grampie, but instead of going trick or treating, Amaya preferred to stay in and sleep.
Oh well maybe next year!
