The Adventures of Mom, Dad and Amaya!
She didn't cry but she wasn't necessarily excited to be there.
This weekend I took Amaya to Santa Cruz with Grammie and Cousin Bella. We stopped at The Buttery, had a delicious lunch ran to Goodwill Books where we found a vintage Dr. Suess book and had some yummy frozen yogurt!

We had an amazing 4th of July weekend! On the day of we met up with our friends Jennifer and Ruby for their neighborhood parade! It was really cute, with old cars and homemade floats. Then we hightailed it over to Vasona park for a BBQ (in the shade.) Amaya got so dirty and we all ate until we were stuffed! My flag cake ended up being pretty popular so I was thrilled.

On the day after we headed over to a Madres BBQ and swim party at a beautiful house in the Silver Creek hills. Amaya and Daddy swam until they were wrinkly and then Amaya had fun playing on the slides and jungle gym.

By Monday night we were totally exhausted but really happy that we spent time with friends and family!
Here's a bonus daredevil video of Amaya at the swim party....
On a quiet afternoon, I whipped out the camera and took some close up pictures of Amaya. I love how they came out!

We took advantage of Paul having a Friday off of work and went to Happy Hollow to see the animals. Lots of you may remember Happy Hollow as a kid, it opened up years ago. But after a recent renovation with new rides and a new animal center, Happy Hollow is a great place to visit with a kiddo.
Amaya loved the carousel and the kiddie rides that she was tall enough to go on. She climbed the jungle gyms with her dad close by and even leaned back and relaxed on the car ride. The goat exhibit was pretty cool but the lemurs and sheep were too busy sleeping in the sunshine to visit. The weather was gorgeous and all in all it was a great way to celebrate the final days of Amaya being 21 months!

In preparation for cousin Avi's arrival, Amaya and I attend Crystal's baby shower a few weekends ago. Amaya was happy to be held by her aunts and cousins and really liked exploring Marion's house! Here are some pictures!
Here are some snapshots of us chatting with Paul!

Recently I was doing laundry and I heard Amaya in the hallway babbling to herself. I peeked around the corner and saw her in the basket, feet up with a book in her lap. I grabbed the camera and took a snapshot but she heard it beep and immediately went to get up. I'm glad I caught this little moment though.
