Helloooo? Anyone Out There?

How have you been feeling?

It's the question everyone asks and the answer is thankfully always the same. Strong, healthy and pretty sure I bypassed the morning sickness stage for good. I am very surprised I'm having an relatively easy pregnancy. P. always said that when I got pregnant I would be a mess and I kind of had to agree with him. When I'm sick, I'm a mess. Cramps? Yep, still a mess.

So anyway I think I'm handling this whole pregnancy scene pretty well considering that I can be a huge diva when I want to be. Then again I'm only 15 weeks. Get back to me at 20 weeks and we'll see if I'm still so confident.

For now I'm still craving citrus stuff and strawberry frozen yogurt. Oh and bagels with lox taste pretty good but only from House of Bagels and only from the one on Almaden Ave. This is good right, I mean to begin with I didn't want any food. Now I get bagels with lox spread like three times a week!

My skin is stretching slightly which means that it is very itchy and my boobs, well let's not even discuss that. Suffice it to say I'm going to be a brown Pam Anderson if things don't calm down in that department.

P.S. That's not my baby in the picture. :-)

New Baby Mobile

 Monday, January 21, 2008

So we decided that the Mini Cooper was not a practical baby mobile and have been looking around since we found out Tiff was pregnant for a small SUV. We went to a few dealerships and nothing really looked good, or did not have options we wanted. We ended up going back to Steven's Creek BMW and test driving this on Thursday, tried to negotiate a price on the Mini trade in and on the X3. They were not willing to budge much so we ended up leaving with no new car. I was a little upset we wasted 3 hours but that is ok, we got a call Friday right before dinner that they were willing to drop the price another $1k from the price we were negotiating and give us another $1k for the Mini.

It is a 2004 BMW X3, low miles, less than my 2006 and comes with the maintenance until next year and a warranty until 2010. This is a much more practical baby mobile than the mini, and we can even fit a stroller in the trunk with room to spare...

Baby T. Update!

 Thursday, January 17, 2008

I swear if you guys could see me right now I'm grinning from ear to ear. Today was our big ultrasound and of course we were nervous due to some previous circumstances so I wanted it out of the way to begin with. My doctor put the wand to my abdomen and pushed around and suddenly, Baby T. freaked! LOL!!

The baby was spinning around, kicking and waving their little arms almost in a fury. It was hopping around so much we didn't get a picture but the best part was, the baby is healthy and growing just right. And you know what? We could not be happier!

Stollers Here and There

 Monday, January 14, 2008

So I know ya'lll were worried about my expensive taste but guess who liked the Bugaboo Frog when we checked out strollers this weekend! Yep, Paul!!

But alas, the Frog is not in our price range so we found a few other that would be suitable alternatives. First up is the Britax Vigour, which we pushed around and liked as well. Well, we liked it until we found out we couldn't get the handles to go down. We'll need to work on that.

Second is the Uppababy which is a cheaper alternative to the Frog, however the wheels on this thing massive. It almost feels like I would be go off-roading with the stroller rather than going for a quick run to the mall!

Books, Books, Books...

 Wednesday, January 9, 2008

So for Christmas I got a few books for new fathers to be. From Tiffany I got "My Boys Can Swim: The Official Guys Guide to Pregnancy", and from my Vickie (my mother in law) I got The Expectant Father. I have not had chance to read the book Tiffany got me yet, but from what she was telling me it is more like how to deal with a crazy pregnant wife.

Based on this I decided to read the other book I got. It basically details all the different changes that Tiffany will be going through over the course of the pregnancy and how I can support her. Overall the book was a good read, and this is coming from someone who does not do too much reading. The only thing that bugged me was that there was only a small section at the end on the things to expect when you bring baby home. And then I realized why, they want you to buy all the companion books as well.

So I figure I will need to pick up a few more books, and do a little more reading.  The second book in the series is titled "The New Father: A Dad's guide to the First year".  Since the first book was a pretty easy read I figure I will go ahead and get the second book so I can know what more to expect when the baby comes home.

-Paul
