Christmas Day Part 2

 Saturday, December 26, 2009

We hosted Christmas dinner this year and Amaya's aunts, uncles and cousins came to visit. Paul and I made ham, chicken, mashed potatoes and homemade mac n cheese. So very good! We also opened up awesome presents like the Disney babies (thanks aunt Crystal) and a care bear, clothes and a puzzle (thanks aunt Rose). Amaya's grandma got her a baby and hair clips and her second cousin got her a wood shape sorter in pink! Finally Amaya's other aunt Jan got her a set of organic play food and a book made from recycled paper (thank you!!)

Thanks to everyone who was so generous, next year we hope to host in a bigger house LOL!

Christmas morning we all got up around 6 and went downstairs. Paul had put together Amaya's wooden shopping cart the night before and she went right over to it. After pushing it around and seeing all the new play food in the canvas part, we sat down to open the rest of the presents. The wrapping paper was last years and I'm happy to say it's all been recycled!

This shopping cart was like a magnet!

Daddy opening up yet another pair of shoes, natch.

After getting home from
working a half day, we took Amaya to the park before the festivities at Aunt Nana's house. This kid really loves to run around the park and wanted nothing to do with wearing her jacket. Here are some pictures!

Recently I was doing laundry and I heard Amaya in the hallway babbling to herself. I peeked around the corner and saw her in the basket, feet up with a book in her lap. I grabbed the camera and took a snapshot but she heard it beep and immediately went to get up. I'm glad I caught this little moment though.

Merry Christmas 2009!

 Monday, December 7, 2009

Santa wasn't a hit this year. Amaya cried and tried to slide out of his grasp so what we ended up with is a picture with me holding onto her and cut out of the picture. Oh well at least she looks good in red!

More Teeth!

 Saturday, November 28, 2009

Last week was a bit tough for everyone because Amaya was cranky, not eating and not sleeping very well. While drying her off at bath time recently I discovered that she had not one but four teeth making an appearance, including her molars! Since she was having so much fun I thought I would snap some pics of her!

Halloween 2009

 Saturday, October 31, 2009

We had a busy day planned today and started off with a wonderful breakfast Daddy made of turkey sausage, french toast and coffee.

We ran a few errands to finish up Amaya's costume and then went home for a quick nap. Three hours later we realized that we were not going to able to meet our friends for a fun halloween event so we went to Grammie's house for our traditional pumpkin carving session. We ended up staying there after further plans fell through and had a great time!

Amaya trick or treated at 5 houses, got a few pieces of candy that Daddy and Mommy promptly ate and finished the night off with some delicious brownies.

Mommy and Daddy spend the rest of the night cuddled under a blanket watching The Witches.

Perfect Halloween!
