Paul is on vacation this week which is nice because we have barely seen him at all! So far we've been doing a lot of organizing Amaya's room (the clothing situation was out. of control.) and we've been watching Daddy play his video games. We actually got out of the house the other day and I was able to put Amaya in a cute hat her Auntie C passed down to her. 
So after a long nap we headed over to Aunt Crystal's house for dinner and more festivities! I wish we had video bust since we don't imagine Uncle Bryan talking to her in a Daffy Duck voice. Amaya thought this was hilarious.
Just popping in to say that Christmas was wonderful this year. Seriously everyone was so generous and it was nice to enjoy it with Amaya. I think one of the most fun parts was to see everyone interact with her. I know that she brought a smile to more than one face. Out of everything she got, she loved her Jacques the Peacock figure from lamaze. I think the colors and textures interest her, she chews on that thing more than on Sophie La Girafe! She received lots of cute outfits and Grammie got her all the things to start solids, like plates, spoons and a sippy cup. By the end of the morning she crashed on Grammie's lap for a nice long nap!

So tonight she decided she wanted to sit up all by herself. I love her looking at the camera. It's almost like she's saying, "what? I planned to do this the entire time!" Funny little girl....
Grammie and I took Amaya to see Santa at the Stanford Mall this morning. When we left it was nice and sunny but as we headed toward the line, the clouds had rolled in and the wind kicked up. Amaya's nap time was off but she stood patiently in line looking super cute in her holiday dress and patent leather mary janes. I really liked the set up there, and I liked how the Santa looked with his overalls and boots. So it went like this....
"hmmm what is this scene?"
"who's that weird looking man?"
"wait a second..."
"oh HELL to the NO!"
"get me out of here!"
So the genius helper thought it would be great to jingle some bells and squeal in her face and she freaked out. I calmed her down and we did a second shot. She's tired, totally annoyed and ready to go but we got a decent pic.
We got our Christmas tree up and I'm so happy with the way it came out! It's hard t tell but my theme was silver this year, I put up mostly silver ornaments and crystal tinsel. Amaya was fascinated by this display of holiday cheer for about a day and then she promptly ignored it for the rest of the time. The baby's first Christmas ornament was given to us by Grandma Carol, Grampie made the foot ornament and the tree topper is a vintage hand me down from my parents!

We got Amaya a jumper since she loves to stand out and work those chubby little legs. She was enthralled but sadly her legs do not fit all the way to the bottom, even though we have her on the top setting! She seems to love it and even ripped off one of the toys so she could chew on it properly. How destructive! LOL
It's funny I was trying soo hard not to have a bunch of huge plastic play things around the house but Amaya has other ideas. ;)
